Horse training has been a long-time art and somewhat of a science.

Consider the Arabs.  They were the little-known experts quietly creating wildly successful horses from their own insights. 

What they offered the world was nearly beyond imagination.

For instance, the Arab’s horse was so much a part of the family, it took precedence over certain relatives.  The horse loved its master and would do incredible things for him.

One of which was when the rider fell off and  was hurt, the horse would neigh for assistance like a 911 emergency call.

The first thing you need to consider is can you spend time with them daily?  After all, you need to something with them every day - at least…something.

That may mean catching them and brushing them at the least.

One of the secrets the Arabs used to work with horses is careful movements around.  nothing sudden or jerky.  Just deliberate, not so fast movement.

Fast movement will spawn a horse to move fast and get scared.  Slow movement gives it more confidence.

 So if you have a new horse that’s nervous and doesn’t know what to make of you, start with slow movements and build his trust and confidence of you.

When we talk about Arabian horse training, we are not talking about training Arabian horses.

Even so, this knowledge can (and should) be applied to Arabian horses.

There’s a question of whether or not the Arabians were better trainers than say trainers of today.

I can’t say for sure who was best.  The way I see it, if a trainer gets the results he wants and his horse isn’t abused from it, then what does it matter.
